Agreement for the adoption of the new european budget
EU leaders have reached an agreement on the adoption of the new European budget. In the past three weeks, Poland and Hungary have vetoed the adoption of the budget due to their objections to the new rule of law mechanism attached to EU funds.
Since the European Commission has made it clear that this clause to access the EU funds will only be applicable from 1 January, Poland and Hungary have accepted the proposed budget for a total of 1.8 trillion euros.
The agreement reached. confirms the € 15 billion increase for EU flagship programs and the 50% increase for Creative Europe which will now amount to € 2.2 billion, a positive outcome for CEPI and its partners.
