APA Contribution to Geo-blocking Consultation

The EU Commission has launched a public consultation on the geo-blocking regulation to gather feedback on its application and objectives ahead of the Commission’s evaluation report expected within November 2025. APA, in coordination with CEPI and several organisations and companies from the film and audiovisual sector, has submitted its contribution to the consultation, highlighting the importance of territorial exclusivity in protecting the financing necessary for the development, creation and production of content, as well as for the marketing, distribution and exploitation of film/audiovisual works through all distribution channels.
