Paypermoon has been operating in the audio-visual industry since 2001. It is controlled by the British private equity fund Cambria through the Londonregistered company Aislin Group Ltd. In more than 20 years of activity, the production company has made over 140 hours of films and fiction for national TV and foreign broadcasters, shot in some of the most beautiful Italian regions including Lazio, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Piedmont and Trentino Alto Adige with the contribution of local film commissions.

Paypermoon makes its debut in the Italian media market in 2002 with a great campaign of social information, completely self-produced: nine short films entitled Giornate di soli and dedicated to the theme of solitude. The project, adopted as a social campaign by the City of Rome, saw the prestigious collaboration of famous artists like the singer Elisa, the actor Silvio Muccino, and various directors such as Carlo Lizzani, Maurizio Nichetti and Giuseppe Tornatore.

In 2003 Paypermoon produced for RaiDue Mammamia!, a 30 episodes sitcom that explores the daily life of a mother of three, starring Maurizio Nichetti and Angela Finocchiaro. Between 2006 and 2008 Paypermoon developed for RaiUno two seasons of Raccontami, a long television series based on the Spanish format Cuentame còmò pasò, consisting of 26 episodes per season and played by Massimo Ghini and Lunetta Savino. In 2011 Paypermoon produced Questo nostro amore, a 12 episodes series about the recent history of Italy, starring Neri Marcorè and Anna Valle. The series was successfully aired on RaiUno during the fall of the following year. After the success of the first season (5.5 million of average viewers) the company produced two sequels, Questo nostro amore 70 (2014) and Questo nostro amore 80 (2018).

In 2016 Paypermoon made Come fai sbagli, the adaptation of the highly successful French series Fais pas ci, fais pas ça and Il Confine, a series directed by Carlo Carlei and created on the occasion of 100th anniversary since the beginning of Italy’s participation in First World War. 2019 Is the year of Oltre la soglia, a medical drama about mental disorders of today’s adolescents. In 2020 the company produces for Rai Vite in Fuga, a 12 episodes thriller directed by Luca Ribuoli.

In the movie sector Paypermoon has achieved excellent results with the film Che strano chiamarsi Federico (2013), a portrait of Federico Fellini, directed by the filmmaker Ettore Scola and co-produced with Palomar and Istituto Luce; and I’m – Endless like the space (2017) directed by Anne-Riitta Ciccone, the first feature-length film in 3d live action directed by a woman. During the last few years, Paypermoon’s activity has focused on one side, on the development of local projects both for RAI and Mediaset, and on the other side on the developing of projects targeting international audiences.
Among this project the most important is Don’t leave me (2022), an adrenaline-filled and realistic series of 8 episodes written by Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravagli (authors of Gomorrah and ZeroZeroZero), which focuses on the delicate theme of cybercrime and crimes against childhood. Don’t leave me is the sole Italian TV series shot in Venice. The TV series, purchased by Canal+, boasts international distribution by Federation Entertainment. The Tv-series has been sold to many European countries, including Australia, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain and Turkey.

Currently, Paypermoon is developing two TV series: La Buona Stella, a thriller-tinged family drama that explores the frailties and strengths of today’s family bonds and Red Blood Venice, a new series set in Venice written by Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravagli.

Paypermoon has its legal and administrative headquarters in Milan, via dell’Ambrosiana, 22 and its Creative Direction office in Rome, viale Mazzini, 121.

The Executive Producer of the company is Riccardo Cardarelli, who has begun his career in the film industry in 1986. After being Line Producer for many years for important movies likes Francesca e Nunziata directed by Lina Wertmuller, Le Cinque giornate di Milano by Carlo Lizzani, Il Generale Dalla Chiesa by Giorgio Capitani, Febbre da Cavallo – La Mandrakata by Carlo Vanzina and Manual of Love by Giovanni Veronesi, in 2005 he began to work exclusively for Paypermoon.
