APA, representing independent Italian producers, along with producers from France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, signes the joint appeal to safeguard culture, democracy, and creative freedom. VP Rafowicz (Vice-President of the CULT Commission) emphasizes the essential role of the audiovisual sector as driver of democracy, creativity, and cultural diversity in Europe and the importance of a regulation to support an open and ambitious cultural policy, as well as the strength of an ecosystem driven by independent businesses and flexible, competitive SMEs. All producers, Iginio Straffi (Vice-President of the APA) for Italy, support the call for European institutions and national governments to collaborate in developing regulations to protect culture, democracy, and the diversity of narratives rooted in diverse cultures, languages, and local identities.
